We turn to downwind, Spinnaker pole out, Genoa high, engine off, self-control system ran and there

Often one knows really until afterwards how good you had it. There are people who long for a return to their childhood, the others to school., And then that back in the study times I can personally here now so do not sign on the "yacht" in the Caribbean ... No, I have to admit: This is the best time and the greatest happiness of my / our life.
Trinidad and Tobago, we can still leave in the sunset and the machine is running but in fact. With leisurely gdoweek five knots we chug as of Chaguaramas (also called drag-uaramas know the sailors what is meant) going through the Dragon's Mouth upstream Huevos islands where we are hanging around pointless six weeks prior to two and a half days and then it's actually already . Happiness # 2 - wind and current
We turn to downwind, Spinnaker pole out, Genoa high, engine off, self-control system ran and there it is, the feeling is addictive. With maximum speed Marianne draws without our assistance through the night, the water rushing past the hull and we stand on the bow and enjoy the fast ride in the black soup - our GPS tells us then that the speed over ground even one node is faster . As if that were not enough, came out of nowhere a group of dolphins on and dances to the thumping beat of our minimal gdoweek techno before "Marianne" bug around.
Actually, we wanted also to control a port of Venezuela, but many sailors have warned us due to the current pirate attacks before. Because of course gdoweek much yarn is, but after we have come to know Rob from Ireland who just came from Venezuela and a gun was held to his head, while the pirates have everything cleared out of his boat, we decide but for a larger arc around the coast of Venezuela.
We have already properly made at night track when at dawn, about twenty miles from shore, suddenly holding a small motorboat with five / six people and high speed on us. The do not really look like fishing and have no stuff to fish there. The boat is actually much too small for the open sea, but a "mother ship" I can not see well.
All too strange and when I wake the captain, I have to set myself very hard to keep me in emerging panic for me. Harpoon? Baton? New Year's Eve Pops? Without a fight up? I am preparing, below deck on the end, while Benni out of the guys waving, no, we want to buy a fish and since they also rotate as of yet, with its two pink outboard motors.
Shortly before departure had given me Corinna of the "SY Ivalu" the tip, we should make to Klein Curaçao necessarily stop. For them it was on the trip one of the most beautiful gdoweek places and there was nothing except gdoweek a lighthouse, a wreck and turtles. We're usually more like the big city sailors, but now we are so fast on our way to every day almost one hundred and forty miles to cover (which is roughly the distance from my home Rostock gdoweek to Berlin) and quiet time can insert a small detour.
The joy is great, as Klein Curaçao just one more night
